The GPWSLL recognizes that safety is the responsibility of league officials, parents, volunteers and players. This page outlines some of the policies and procedures implemented for the safety of everyone involved.
In any incident that causes injury to a player, manager, coach, umpire or other volunteer should follow the procedures documented on our injury page.
All league volunteers, including managers, coaches and board members, must register through the league registration site. This initiates a process to have the league safety officer begin the background process through a Little League provided service from J.D. Palatine (JDP) starting in 2018. The safety officer uses volunteer registration information to provide directions to the volunteer needed to complete the background check process through the service. The state of Michigan is making a change to the Concussion Law. It is now required that coaches renew their certificate EVERY 3 YEARS.
