Info about our League

What are the league divisions?

T-Ball: For our youngest players, ages 5-6, T-Ball is our first developmental league. Everyone has fun learning about baseball.

Girls Softball: Players are assigned to teams organized across Grosse Pointe and Harper Woods. Teams practice and play locally and against teams from other District 6 leagues.

  • Girls Machine Pitch, ages 6-9
  • Girls Minor League, ages 9-10
  • Girls Major League, ages 11-12
  • Girls Junior/Senior League, ages 13-16

A League: Primarily 7-8 year-olds, and older 6 year-olds who have played T-Ball and can advance to the next level. Our A League is a developmental league with entry level competition.  A machine is used for pitching to the hitters. Players learn more about positions, base running and strategy. Umpires are provided and games are scored.

AA League: Primarily 9 year-olds and those older 7-8 year-olds who have played A League and can advance to the next level. AA is our first, fully competitive level. Six inning games are played, umpires are provided, players pitch, outs are recorded and players learn positions. Results and Standings are recorded and at the end of the season playoffs determine the AA Champion.

AAA League: For 10-12 year-olds who may not want to play Major League baseball, cannot commit to the schedule or are not drafted into the Major Leagues. Results and Standings are recorded and playoffs determine the AAA Championship.

Major League: For 9-12 year-olds who are selected through our annual draft. This is our premier, competitive league for players 9-12. Major league teams require a big commitment with games and practices six days per week.

Intermediate (13) and Senior League (14-16): For those who want to continue to play baseball in Grosse Pointe. This league provides an advanced baseball experience with larger diamonds.
